Mr. Dostal leads the firm’s business planning practice group and estate planning and probate practice group. He has over twenty-five years of experience in counseling clients in all matters involving estate, business succession, tax planning, real estate law and non-profit organizations.
In his role as chair of the business planning practice group, Mr. Dostal provides legal counsel and services to clients in all facets of business formation, legal organization, commercial transactions and regulation. His experience includes forming all types of business entities, including corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and sole proprietorships. He also routinely helps negotiate and draft contracts and commercial leases, operating agreements, buy-sell agreements, shareholder agreements, loan agreements and secured transactions, stock purchase agreements and asset purchase agreements. In his representation of individuals and business entities, Mr. Dostal provides counsel on how to structure transactions to optimize tax consequences and estate planning objectives.
As the chair of the firm’s estate planning and practices group, Mr. Dostal leads a group of talented attorneys serving the needs of individuals, families and businesses throughout Nebraska and Iowa. He prepares comprehensive estate plans tailored to individual and family needs and routinely works with accountants, bankers, financial advisors, trustees, guardians, conservators, personal representatives, executors, and administrators to protect the interests of his clients and those individuals who require court-supervised assistance in their personal or financial affairs. He also assists clients in protecting, transferring and valuing possessions and to preserve their dignity through wills, trusts, powers of attorney (including powers of attorney for healthcare), and thoughtful advanced directives to family and healthcare providers.
